Rainbow Mountain Full Day Tour: Explore the Heart of the Andes

  • Wake up and get ready for the adventure!

    Your adventure starts early with a pickup from your hotel between 4:00 and 4:30 am. Then, we will head to Rainbow Mountain, where you will enjoy amazing views of the southern Cusco region all day long.

  • Breakfast and energy for the journey!

    We will make a stop at a cozy spot for a light breakfast, recharging our energy for the hike to the majestic Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca.

  • Hike begins and exploration of the site!

    We’ll begin the hike as the breathtaking Andean landscape surrounds you. After an exciting 1.5 to 2-hour walk (depending on your pace and fitness level), we’ll arrive at our destination: Rainbow Mountain, where vibrant reds, yellows, greens, and purples await.

    Take your time to explore and capture stunning photos of this natural wonder.

  • Adventure in the Red Valley!

    After a short, exciting 30-minute hike, we’ll reach the top of the Red Valley, a unique spot rarely explored by tourists. This otherworldly place creates a surreal atmosphere you won’t want to miss.

  • We’ve completed the challenge!

    After exploring two of the best spots in southern Cusco, we will take our way back, which will take around 1.5 hours. Our minivan will be waiting for us at the base.

    Next, we’ll head to a local restaurant where we’ll enjoy a well-deserved lunch. This is the perfect time to share stories and laughs with fellow travelers while savoring authentic Peruvian cuisine.

    Afterward, we’ll start our return journey to Cusco, where each traveler will be dropped off at their respective accommodations, with unforgettable memories and photos to cherish from this incredible day. See you on the next adventure with Amaiaq!

    If you’ve booked a group tour and the minimum requirement of 2 participants is not met, don’t worry—we are flexible and offer three options:

    1. Upgrade to a private tour for a small additional fee.
    2. Reschedule your tour to an available date with a group.
    3. Receive a full refund for the tour.
  • Special Requirements:
    Please inform us in advance if you have any specific requests (e.g., airport pickup, special diets, birthdays, or physical conditions that may affect your experience).

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations in Advance:
    If you cancel your reservation at least 7 days before the tour date, you’ll receive a 90% refund (a 10% administrative fee applies).
  • Cancellations 3 to 7 Days Before the Tour:
    A 50% refund will be provided.
  • Cancellations with Less Than 3 Days’ Notice:
    No refunds will be issued.
  • Modifications:
    Tour date changes are allowed up to 7 days before the original date, subject to availability.
  • Company-Initiated Cancellations:
    If we cancel the tour due to unforeseen circumstances, such as adverse weather, you’ll have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
  • No-Show Policy:
    If you fail to show up on the tour date without prior notice, no refund will be provided.

    If you experience symptoms of altitude sickness, it’s important to inform your guide immediately. We recommend taking frequent breaks, drinking plenty of water, and going at your own pace. If symptoms persist, it may be necessary to return before reaching the summit for your safety and well-being.

  • What is the best time of year to visit Rainbow Mountain?

    The best time to visit Rainbow Mountain is during the dry season, from April to October. During these months, the weather is more stable, and the views of the mountain are more spectacular. Avoid the rainy season (November to March) as the terrain can become slippery and difficult to navigate. However, during the rainy season, there are fewer visitors, which is a plus.

  • Is it possible to see the mountain on a cloudy day?

    Yes, it’s still possible to see the mountain on a cloudy day, though the views may be partially covered. On clear days, the seven colors are much more vibrant and visible. Nevertheless, the beauty of the landscape remains impressive, even with some mist.
